BOARD POSITIONS
Our board meets monthly throughout the year.  We host an Annual Meeting, inviting all in the community to attend. There are seven positions to be filled, each requiring different talents and interests.

PRESIDENT
  • Overarching administration, strategic planning, and leadership for the organization
  • Run the board meetings, set the agenda for the year, assist in the organization of the budget, and be the voice of the board where necessary
  • Lead the officers and committees

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS VP
  • Oversight of building equipment maintenance, including appliances, tables, chairs, locks and bathroom supplies)
  • Oversight of building access
  • Oversight of building maintenance, cleaning, and pest control
  • Oversight of grounds, including landscaping maintenance, grass, trash/cleanliness, playground
  • Oversight of pool facility maintenance
  • Oversight of pool equipment maintenance
  • Creation and submission of budget for buildings and grounds short and long term needs
  • Management of buildings and grounds budget

POOL OPERATIONS VP
  • Hiring of pool staff (pool manager and lifeguards)
  • Creation and maintenance of employee handbook, safety plan
  • Supervisor of pool manager
  • Selection, setup and maintenance of scheduling software for pool
  • Oversight of membership committee and its associated responsibilities
  • Creation and submission of budget for summer pool operations (staff, chemicals, etc.)
  • Management of pool budget

DEVELOPMENT AND ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR 
  • Oversees development and implementation of fundraising strategy
  • Integrates fundraising with swim team fundraising
  • Oversees development and implementation of community engagement events
  • Creation and submission of budget for fundraising and engagement short and long-term needs


TREASURER 
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Creating annual budget based on inputs from other officers, committees for approval by officers and directors
  • Financial reporting for monthly, annual meetings
  • Receive and distribute mail
  • Select, setup, configure timecard software
  • Select, setup, configure bookkeeping software
  • Select, work with payroll company to generate pool, swim team paychecks and annual tax reporting in conjunction with Payroll volunteer
  • Pay bills on behalf of BGCA
  • Work with tax preparer to prepare tax returns

SECRETARY 
  • Notes and minutes of meetings
  • Maintenance of BGCA business license

 SWIM TEAM DIRECTOR 
  • Organizing the swim team
  • Develop and manage swim team budget; submit swim team budget for approval and inclusion in the larger BGCA budget
  • Hiring of coaches
  • Managing swimmer registration
  • Managing swim team events
  • Organizing volunteers for swim meets
  • Represent BG at RMAL meetings and events

COMMITTEE CHAIRS
The following committee chairs work with the board members in achieving their goals for our community.

4TH OF JULY
  • Plan 4th of July events (parade, pool activities)
  • Create and run 4th of July fundraisers (spot auctions)
  • Development of budget requests for event
  • Note: Pool manager and head lifeguard(s) must be on the committee

BUILDING RENTAL
  • Reviewing and responding to requests for building rentals
  • Implementing and following board approved rental policies
  • Collecting security deposits and rental fees (with the Treasurer)
  • Make recommendations to VP, Buildings and Grounds for maintenance, other building rental budget needs
  • Preparing the building for rental, checking the building after rental
  • Works with external communications for advertising, website updates

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING
  • General fundraising for the upkeep and maintenance of building, grounds, and pool
  • Works with external communications for advertising, website updates
  • Works with Swim Team fundraising to design complementary strategies

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS 
  • Email communications to the community
  • Email communications to pool members
  • Social media posts within the private and public Brighton Green accounts/pages
  • Website creation and maintenance, including domain name purchase, renewal, Weebly, granting appropriate access to make changes, making changes as needed
  • Neighborhood sign content
  • Pool/maintenance membership marketing
  • Input on communication tools (e.g., MailChimp)

PAYROLL
  • Process payroll for pool staff and swim team employees

MEMBERSHIP
  • Membership system setup and maintenance
  • Answering questions about membership
  • Resolving issues
  • Training pool staff on system usage
  • Maintains member data

SOCIAL
  • Plan and execute community events (not associated with the pool)
  • Plan pool events, excluding 4th of July
  • Works with external communications for advertising, website updates

SWIM TEAM FUNDRAISING 
  • Plan and execute swim team fundraisers
  • Works with external communications for advertising, website updates
  • Works with Community Fundraising to design complementary strategies

SWIM TEAM SPONSORSHIP 
  • Swim team sponsorship program development and implementation
  • Works with external communications for advertising, website updates
  • ​Works with Community Fundraising to design complementary strategies

​SWIM TEAM ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
  • ​Learn responsibilities of Swim Director in anticipation of taking on role
  • Serves as Swim Team Director in the absence of the Swim Team Director

​TECHNOLOGY
  • Install and maintain wireless networking
  • Install and maintain security cameras
  • Monitor security cameras as needed
