Weather Policies

  • Thunder or lightning will result in the pool being closed for minimum 30 minutes. All persons must exit the pool area.
  • The pool will close during heavy rain where lifeguards cannot see the bottom of the pool.
  • The pool will close if the temperature drops below 65 Fahrenheit with no expectation of rebounding higher.
  • Inclement weather after 5:30 PM will typically cause the pool to close for the remainder of the day.

Enforcement of Policy / Rules

  • The Lifeguards have full authority on the pool deck to enforce all rules and policies.
  • Patrons who disregard lifeguard instructions will have to 'sit out' for an amount of time specified by the head guard. This could be as little as 5min or as long as the remainder of operating hours for that day.
  • Disputes: All patrons must follow lifeguard directions immediately. Disputes can be addressed with the Pool Manager or, if she/he is absent, the head guard.
  • The pool will be used only during scheduled hours when lifeguards are on duty.
  • Abuse of BGCA property will not be tolerated.
  • BGCA is not responsible for injuries or valuables.
  • Lifeguards are not permitted to hold anyone’s personal belongings.
  • Failure to comply with all rules can result in suspension or loss of membership or legal prosecution.
  • The Brighton Green Community Association Board may adjust these rules at any time.                                                             last updated May 2026
