BOARD POSITIONS
Our board meets monthly throughout the busiest season of our community year, from March through August, and as needed when the pool is closed for the season.  We host an Annual Meeting, inviting all in the community to attend. There are seven positions to be filled, each requiring different talents and interests.

PRESIDENT
Responsible for the overarching administration, strategic planning, and leadership for the organization.  He or she will run the board meetings, set the agenda for the year, assist in the organization of the budget, and be the voice of the board where necessary.  An effective President should be able to make good decisions, be a good listener, understand basic revenues and expenses, and be able to provide leadership to a group of about ten individuals.

OPERATIONS VICE PRESIDENT
Oversees property maintenance, building rentals, pool operations, and tennis operations.

COMMUNITY LIFE VICE PRESIDENT
Oversees new membership, membership renewal, and member data management, senior engagement, youth engagement, and communications.

FINANCE DIRECTOR
Oversees our budget, our audit, and fundraising for Brighton Green.

TREASURER
Is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, providing a monthly profit and loss statement at board meetings, and paying invoices.  This individual is also responsible for creating the annual budget.

SECRETARY
Is responsible for a
ttending board meetings to take notes/minutes and distribute them to board members for approval.  This individual is also responsible for being a channel of communication between the board and the community by using information from board members to create newsletters and announcements (primarily electronic).  In addition, this rep will post updates on the BGCA Facebook page, check BGCA email periodically, and forward/respond as necessary.  For incoming communications, this individual is also responsible for distributing voicemail files to board members.

SWIM TEAM DIRECTOR
Is responsible for organizing the swim team, including the hiring of coaches, registration, and swim team events.  There is a large element related to organizing the swim team parents for volunteering at swim meets.

COMMITTEE CHAIRS
The following committee chairs work with the board members in achieving their goals for our community.

BUILDING REPRESENTATIVE
Responsible for maintenance of the community center building. This involves replacing tables and chairs as needed, recruiting and organizing neighbors for building maintenance, and taking care of any emergencies that may arise. The Building Representative may also assist the Building Rental Coordinator from time to time in meeting renters, restocking supplies, or assessing damage done.

GROUNDS REPRESENTATIVE
Is responsible for organizing clean-up and planting days, maintaining the grounds (about 4 acres) and doing special projects as needed.  The majority of the land is wooded or grassland and is either self-maintained or mowed by a contracted agent.

BUILDING RENTAL COORDINATOR
Is responsible for showing and renting the building and making sure the needs of the lessees are met.  This individual works with the Building Representative as maintenance issues arise.  Brighton Green is a diverse community and we desire to have a bi-lingual individual holding this position.

MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTATIVE
Coordinates incoming membership applications. This involves informing the neighborhood and surrounding community about the membership availability and process, answering questions from potential and current members, maintaining an up-to-date spreadsheet with membership information, making and delivering membership cards to the pool, and staying in frequent touch with the lifeguards and swim team rep as to the status of memberships and related policies. The majority of the responsibility for this position occurs from March to the close of the pool season. It's a great way to get to know your neighbors!

POOL REPRESENTATIVE
Responsible for the overall pool and the water system and mechanical system that allow it to operate. This individual is also responsible for hiring lifeguards and establishing a management system for execution of daily pool activities throughout the summer.  The individual in this role does not need to be an expert, but willing to engage and manage teams of volunteers who will help with maintenance, opening, and closing of the pool.

COMMUNITY LIFE REPRESENTATIVE
Is responsible for organizing social events for various age groups throughout the year.  Though generally events are related to holidays, there is a lot of flexibility in the types of events that can be organized.

WEBMASTER
Will attend board meetings to gather and confirm information to be posted on our community website (www.brightongreen.org), in addition to using our Facebook page and email communications with other board members to solicit additional information to be posted.  He or she will also attend community events to take photographs to post on our site, in addition to contacting others in the community to find photographs for the site.  News on our current events, photos, membership information, building rental information, pool hours and rules, and swim team information will be posted in a timely manner, so that it is relevant to our community members.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH REPRESENTATIVE
Is responsible for the larger picture of Brighton Green as it relates to the larger community that are not members of the association.  This individual is responsible for working with the community for things that arise like capital campaigns, real estate development, traffic, police, and common land issues.
