BRIGHTON GREEN NEWSLETTER MESSAGE – JUNE 2019 Greetings! Since the February BGCA Annual Meeting, your community board of directors has been improving the appearance and safety of our facilities. We are GATORS! Best wishes to our Swim Team. We have successfully addressed the following: 1. Defining the Pinetta crossing area with appropriate signage courtesy of VDOT officials 2. Paving the “Entrance” side of the parking lot and pothole repairs 3. Replacing worn out valve system for more efficient, better pool operations 4. Installing an appropriate playground safety surface 5. Enhancing and maintaining safe playground systems 6. Making cosmetic improvements to the clubhouse 7 Refreshing the Swim Team starting blocks 8. Training our lifeguard staff to be vigilant 9. Purchasing a new water slide for the pool to provide a safe, fun experience 10. Relocating the waste dumpster to open up more parking space 11. Encouraging volunteer help to maintain the appearance of our grounds on Work Days
In the coming months, we will be considering the following; 1. Improving the restroom conditions 2. Addressing our board governance issues and policies 3. Developing the plan to separate the “Baby Pool” from the “Main Pool’s” mechanical system to meet the health department code 4. Purchasing a portable AED unit for the health and safety of our membership 5. Exploring and creating a 501-C3 corporation/foundation to become a not-for-profit amenity 6. Paving the “Exit” side of the parking lot 7. Repairing the deteriorating drainage culvert leading to the pool area from the parking lot 8. Creating a safer pathway to the tennis courts by removing hazardous trees and debris 9. Building a computerized membership data base 10. Identifying all resident BGCA Past Presidents to form an informal advisory group 11. Encouraging special financial contributions to needed projects We need to have your continued interest and help by supporting our community with your time, talent, and treasures. We have been able to accomplish many of these significant improvements by using some of our accumulated reserve funds mindfully to benefit all concerned. We thank you, Robert E.
