Brighton Green Pool Rules and Policies
The pool manager will be onsite for a portion of everyday and always available via text, phone, or email. Concerns or comments about the rules and management should be addressed with the pool Manager or head guard. The Pool Manager's number and email will be available at the desk when ever the manager is not at the pool. Do not approach a guard while they are still on the stand.

ENFORCEMENT OF POLICY/RULES
1. The Lifeguards have full authority on the pool deck to enforce all rules and policies.
2. Patrons who disregard lifeguard instructions will have to 'sit out' for an amount of time specified by the head guard. This could be as little as 5min or as long as the remainder of operating hours for that day.
3. Disputes: All patrons must follow lifeguard directions immediately. Disputes can be addressed with the Pool Manager or, if she/he is absent, the head guard.
4. The pool will be used only during scheduled hours when lifeguards are on duty.
5. Abuse of BGCA property will not be tolerated.
6. BGCA is not responsible for injuries or valuables.
7. Lifeguards are not permitted to hold anyone’s personal belongings.
8. Failure to comply with all rules can result in suspension or loss of membership or legal prosecution.
9. The Brighton Green Community Association Board may adjust these rules at any time.

POOL ACCESS
- Everyone must register at gate with the Lifeguards.
- Must be capable of conducting oneself in an appropriate manner.
- We will require children to pass a swim test in order to swim in the diving well if the guards are not familiar with their swimming ability.
- Must be accompanied by a person at least 14 years old if in need of supervision or failed the swim test.
- Must be 5 years old or less and supervised by a guardian to play in the baby pool.
- Members may invite Guests (for a fee) and remain with the guests at all times. The fee is waived for children 2 years old and younger and those not swimming.
PLEASE DO
- Wear respectable swimsuits or swim diapers if appropriate.
- Use Coastguard approved flotation devices (non-inflatable).
- Dispose of all trash.
- Respect BGCA and other people’s property.
- Place alcoholic beverages in unmarked/non-glass containers (cozies are acceptable for cans).
- Use headphones for personal music.
NOT ALLOWED
- Bottles or other glass (safety).
- Use of Starting Blocks (safety).
- Running, rough play, flips from side of pool, diving in 4’ of water, hanging on basketball hoop or pool rope, throwing of toys or equipment.
- Smoking, profanity or intoxicated behavior.
- Food, gum, pets, or snorkels.
- Flippers, floats, or toys except at designated times (e.g. Float Nights). Lifeguards may allow items of their choosing at their sole discretion. Pool Noodles are acceptable for recreational purposes only (i.e. users must be capable swimmers). Guests must provide their own noodles.
SLIDE RULES
- Only one person on the slide apparatus at a time.
- The area under the slide must be clear of other swimmers BEFORE sliding down.
ACTIVITIES
- Adult Swim (at the discretion of the staff): The last 15 minutes of every hour, all persons under 18 years of age must exit the water.
- Float Night (Typically Friday nights from 6:00-9:00pm unless there is a special event):
- Personal floats (except hard styrofoam) and toys (except snorkels) are permitted at the discretion of management and staff.
- Floats cannot obstruct the visibility of the lifeguards.
- No standing on floats or jumping off of the floats.
- No more than 3 people on a single float regardless of the size of the float.
- Management and staff reserve the right to determine if a float is allowed and to require floats to be removed due to overcrowding.
WEATHER POLICIES
- Thunder or lightning will result in the pool being closed for minimum 30 minutes. All persons must exit the pool area.
- The pool will close during heavy rain where lifeguards cannot see the bottom of the pool.
- The pool will close if the temperature drops below 65 Fahrenheit with no expectation of rebounding higher.
- Inclement weather after 5:30 PM will typically cause the pool to close for the remainder of the day.
